CANCER PROGRAM
Panacea's lead program is in oncology and centers on an entirely unique and proprietary technology platform that offers substantial opportunities for the development and commercialization of an integrated set of diagnostics and therapeutics for cancer. This program was initiated through the formation of a Collaborative Research Agreement and a License Agreement with Rhode Island Hospital/Brown University granting the Company exclusive, worldwide rights to the technology.
Forming the basis of this novel approach to cancer management is a highly conserved enzyme, Human Aspartyl (Asparaginyl) ß-Hydroxylase or HAAH. Over-expression of HAAH is strongly associated with the progression and invasiveness of multiple cancers. The Company has established a significant intellectual property portfolio based on the subject and several further applications currently under consideration.
